Dear Colleague,
A couple of editorials ago I described my concerns about the expansion of the electric cars market as these vehicles are currently too expensive to grant a wide adoption among consumers and for this reason I was suggesting that new business models should be introduced to make their use (e.g. pay per use, long term rent, etc.) more viable without having to bear the huge expense for owning the vehicle.

EU emissions down 24% on 1990 - but still off 2030 target
EU greenhouse gas emissions fell by nearly four percent in 2019, compared with the previous year, while the bloc's GDP continued to grow, according to latest official data released on 30 Nov 2020. Last year's emissions were down by

Toyota announces the launch of KINTO EUROPE, a new mobility services company for the region
KINTO is evolving its mobility services brand from a project to a business with the launch of a new mobility company, KINTO Europe. A joint venture between Toyota Motor Europe (TME) and Toyota Financial Services (TFS) KINTO Europe
will be based in Cologne, Germany, and commence operations in April 2021, managing a growing range of KINTO mobility services and products across the region. Read more

Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy – putting European Transport on track for the future
By 2030: - at least 30 million zero-emission vehicles will be in operation on European roads; - 100 European cities will be climate neutral; - high-speed rail traffic will double; - scheduled
collective travel of under 500 km should be carbon neutral within the EU; - automated mobility will be deployed at large scale; - zero-emission vessels will become ready for market
By 2035: - zero-emission large aircraft will become ready for market.

EIB invests €50 million in Wenea to deploy over 470 charging stations for electric vehicles in Spain
The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Wenea, via Nordian CPO, a company owned by Diggia Group that provides services for electric vehicles, are joining forces to strengthen long-distance and interurban electric mobility in Spain.
The EU bank will provide €50 million to Wenea via Nordian CPO, enabling the Spanish company to carry out an investment of around €100 million to increase long distance mobility in Spain. Read
