Roadmap on EU Renewable Energy rules - review

The review will 1) assess how far EU renewable energy rules (Directive 2018/2001/EU) can contribute to a higher EU climate ambition and 2) explore how to accelerate the transition to a more integrated energy system as outlined in the energy system integration & hydrogen strategies. EU, Switzerland to link emissions trading platforms from September 2020

A planned link-up of the EU and Swiss carbon markets will be operational from September, the European Commission said, giving companies a broader pool of potential partners with which to trade emissions permits. The EU carbon market is the bloc’s flagship policy for cutting greenhouse gas emissions, which it does by forcing power plants, factories and airlines to buy permits to cover some of the pollutions they emit. Lombardy launches a €115 million “Marshall Plan” to boost cycling

The bicycle is playing an increasingly major role in the European recovery plans. The Italian region of Lombardy, one of the most relevant economic areas of Europe, has been the latest to announce a great budget to promote cycling: €115 million exclusively allocated to stimulate cycling over the next year. Europe Will Begin Flight Testing The Boeing 737 MAX In 10 Days

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has announced that it plans to begin flight testing the Boeing 737 MAX in the next couple of weeks. The regulator is targeting the week beginning September 7th to start flight tests. This is an important step on the road to recertification and will come as a relief to those European airlines waiting to get their fleets back in the air.. Read more
